High-Rise Cornbread

A yeast cornbread! One of the favorites in my house.

High Rise Cornbread

This is a hearty bread made with just a touch of cornmeal to give it  a unique appearance and taste.  It's soft crust and firm texture make it a great sandwich bread, giving the average lunch a little more pep!  It's also wonderful with soups or toasted with a little honey butter.

Hungarian Poppy Seed Cookies

This heritage cookie is one of my Dad's favorites.  Handed down by his mother, she traditionally made it at Christmas, rolling it in red and green sugar.  It's a great short bread cookie for any time of the year, though!

As beautiful as they are tasty!

Ingredients: almonds, butter, cinnamon, egg, flour, poppy seeds, sugar, sugar, vanilla

Stained Glass Cookies

These delicious cookies are made with hard candy to give them their beautiful appearance.  Don’t be fooled by their looks, they taste great, too!

Hang them on the tree or eat them right up!

Ingredients:  baking powder, butter, egg, flour, salt, sugar, vanilla, jolly ranchers candy to make the glass

Papa’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Revisit a childhood classic with these wonderful chocolate chip cookies.  When my dad retired, he started making this cookie and, with a few minor modifications, has come up with the perfect recipe!

Nothing beats a chocolate chip cookie.  Nothing.

Ingredients: butter, baking soda, brown sugar, eggs, flour, salt, sugar, vanilla (also available with nuts)

Gingerbread Biscotti

Light and crunchy with peppermint white chocolate drizzled over, this biscotti is a perfect winter treat.  Enjoy with a glass of ice cold milk or with any of your favorite hot beverages like cocoa.

Be daring, try it will some mulled wine!

Ingredients: allspice, baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar, cinnamon, egg, flour, ginger, molasses, nutmeg, pecans, peppermint, vanilla, white chocolate

Chewy Gingersnaps

All the taste, none of the crunch!  These perfect little gingersnaps are soft and chewy, perfect for those times when you want the flavor of gingersnaps without having to work so hard.

The snap comes from the flavor, not the cookie!
